Kuwait has one of the highest solar irradiation levels in the world, estimated at around 2200 kW/m2 per year. However, it only has 106 MW of renewables including 93 MW from solar. The industry outlook seemed to be changing for the better, with large scale PV projects in the pipeline but they have been postponed amidst the Covid-19 crisis. Could 2021 be the year in which solar finally takes off in Kuwait? In this webinar, a panel of experts will try to provide an answer to this question.
- The impact of the Covid-19 crisis on large scale projects, such as the 1500 MW Al-Dibdibah solar PV project
- Analysis of the regulatory environment, including the impact of the expiration of Kuwait’s public debt law in 2017
- Find out more about access to international finance for renewable energy projects in Kuwait
